we went paddle boarding!!!

Hi there yesterday we went paddle boarding it was very fun we did it for the William pike challenge award. First we went and got some life jackets and some pails. Then we went and pubmed up one of the big boards that can have up to six people on one of them. We went on the big one first and it was very fun not not as fun as the single ones because I fell in I was at the back with ms Sprangg when I fell in but the water was not could at all so I was fine. Then when I was on the single ones I went to the other side of the lake and then back with out felling in. After that we had a race one group vs the other group on the big ones but there was six in one group so we went three at a time we had to go out and high five the instructor but sadly we lost the race we where out in front but then when we got back we fell off and we go back on high five the instructor but it was to late then we went for a swim and we got ms Taylor wet it was very fun and I hope that we can do it next year bye now.  

  

My writting this year

This year in my writing I have had a very big improvement at the beginning of the year it I was finding hard for me to get ideas about what to write and what to do my blog posts on but now I can just think of what to do a blog post on and then it comes to me like this blog that is who the idea came to me. So what I'm going to do is get one bit of writing from the beginning of the year and then I'm going to get one bit of writing from now so there it is hope you like it enjoy the top one is my one from the beginning of the year.

Gruffalo escapes from the best???

Yesterday on june the 17th there was zoo break at the best zoo in the country.

That’s rit from new york zoo. But what really puts people on hold

Is that at the beginning of the year when it was built they set that no animal  

In the word can break out of the zoo not Even in a Gorilla.

We got to talk to a leader of builders that made the Gruffalo enclosure.

When we talked to him they seed that there must of been weg sot in the

Wall. that one of the builders did not put the rit Amount of cement that

needed to go on the wall.

When you see this Gruffalo it will look like it has a big back long line of

spikes on its back. It has lots and lots of hair that is black and the hair

is all over the Gruffalo's body. It’s name is Gruffe because he is a boy.

Warriors still have hope in 2018

            

  On the 16/6/18 in the NRL the Auckland Warriors where taking on the North queensland Cowboys
at 1300SMILES Stadium, at Townsville in Australia. This was the 2nd time that the two teams had played
against one another this 2018 season.The Warriors have been pulling out some of their best players because
of the test match in England next week and they do not want their best players getting hurt and then not being
able to play in England.

But lots of players from the Kiwis team still played with shaun Johnson still playing and having a great game
with not missing one kick in the game. The Warriors are looking like they will be making the playoffs with in
5th place After now betting the finalists. How are the Cowboys After putting them down to a 23-16 win for
the Warriors after in april betting him in Auckland 23-12. The try scorers were  Kata, RTS, cowboys kyle and
the raised was just goal kicking with Johnson pulling off a field goal. Which put the game out of reach for
the Cowboys.

The really closing point of the game was when RTS  ran 100 meters to score a try which put the game out of
reg by side stepping the 1st deanfter and then going on to step the fullback and then he was gone. After that
Johnson put the Icing on the cake by grabbing a field goal with only 1 mins left on the clock and that was
Johnson's 3rd field goal of the season.  

We got someone who went to the game to tell us how the game went down. He said that when RTS got that
try it looked like it was over but then with a minte left and Johnson got the field goal. He said that has Favourite
moment was when RTS got that amazing try by side stepping the first defender and then going on to Side step
the fullback.

But it was a great game from both of the teams. In the end the Warriors won the game by 11 points.  

The Kiwis team will be very Interesting to see what players they put into the team For next week in Denver on
sunday when new zealand's best will take on some of England's best players.       

  

Hooked on books week 2018

As you know, here at Yaldhurst, there is a Hooked on Books week.

We had to do some slides with some questions on them. I'm going to put on one of my slides that I liked. I am going to put on my favourite book slide that I have done. It is Liars, the one with the boy who made a app that can tell you when someone is lying to you. Also it has a very good beginning to it because it has a car crash that was awesome.

Hooked on books week

This week is Hooked on books week and on Monday we were reading a book called Liars. it is all about a boy who made a app that can tell you if someone is ling to you. It can tell because it can tell from the why the person is talking and it can tell from the why the person is looking like if the phone can see the persons face. When someone Lias the phone will beep. I like the book it is like a murder book and in the beaging of the book the main charter is in a car driving back from school at night and they get rammed into bye some old man and the old man was tiring to kill them. We only get to read about the for one day because every day beens a new book. There is a photo of the box that the book came in bye.

inquiry

Hi there this for the last um lets just say forever we have been doing inquiry about plastic. I have been thinking about putting in my sub questions. My inquiry is about plastic in our oceans. before it was just about plastic and it was too boring so I made it about plastic in our oceans. But I was thinking I was doing this blog that it was going to take up too much space. so I'm just going to do one sub question when I was doing this sub question I think that I did very well. But maybe next week I can put in all the other sub question maybe for my next blog bye now.

once a sea turtle as eaten 200 bits of plastic there is no way to save it no matter what you do and that is very sad. I have not been able to found out how much plastic does it take to kill a sea animal but I have found out that in Australia when they found turtles 22% of all the turtles in Australia have eaten plastic which to me is very sad. there have been over 1,000 turtles found die on the coast of Australia. when a turtle eats 14 bits of plastic the chances of a dying increase up to 50%.    Source: How Much Plastic Does It Take To Kill a Sea Turtle? it’s in the 2nd paragraph

zones

On Monday I went to zones for aleties it was really fun. I was felling very nervous because this was going to be my first time ever going to zones for aleties. I went for the 80 meter spinet and the long distance race which for the year 7/8´s is 1200 meters. In the 80 meter spinet I came 2nd to last. Then in the long distance I came 2nd to last as well. I think that I did very well at zones. There is some photos from when we went to zones bye.   

 

novel study side

Last week we started our novel study. I was reading shambles. The story is about a dog that runs away from his owner. He also comes and found some really cool people like, a fisherman, a surfer and a homeless man. We were giving a google slide of stuff to do for our novel study. There is lots of sides that we have to do but that is okay because I think that I have gotten a very good start to my work. I hope that you like my work and just to let you know that I have only done up to side 8. But hope that you like my work. Do you do any Novel Study in your class? Bye.

we went sailing

On Friday we went sailing at lake Rua. The lake is only about 10 minutes past the airport. When we got to lake Rua we had to go and sat down, then they teach us how to rig the boat. Then we went and rigged it. We were in groups of three. In my group it was Teegan, Ian, and Me. Me and Teegan kept making jokes just for the sake of it And it turns out the jokes that we made about sailboat were really good. Me and Teegan just kept Practicing turning and using the throttle rope after we had finished setting up are boat. Then it was morning tea time and we had some food to eat. After morning tea the instructors got in the dienes and took some boats offer to where we were going to get them from. We all raced over to the little we dock that we were going to get them from. Then we got some life jackets and put them on. Then we all hoped in to our boats there were only 3 boats that could be out at one time because there were only three instructors out there. Me and Hunter were helping bring in the boats and then send him back out it was a really fun experience to go sailing I went out maybe about three or four times the first two times. I went out with instructor then the next two I went out on my own it was really fun. I would definitely do it again. At 2:00 o'clock we had to get out and take the boat's back then we went into a container and got changed then we hopped on the bus and head back to school it was so much fun.  

my maths work

Last week we finished our maths side and this week we are starting a new maths side. The one that we did was called measurement and geometry. I did not finish my side because I was in Rarotonga on a holiday with my family. I found that getting the sides done was really hard because I had been away and also I was founding the questions hard to do. I think that I have improved in my measurement and some working out. I think that next time I should maybe do some at home so that I can make sure that I can be up to date with what I need to do. There is my side hope that you like it and just to let know I tried my best and I think that I did a good job on it by now. P.S I only did up to side 14.

  

recount

This week we have been doing a lot of recounts. So we are going to blog about our recounts. I'm doing my Athletics recount that we did on Monday. I think that I did very well on my Athletics recount. What I found hard was putting it into chronological order. But I think that I did very well at doing it. I have learned how to put bits of writing into chronological order. I think that I have improved on my full stops the most and I am very happy about that because I have been trying to be able to put full stops into my stories for a long time. I hope that you like my recount there it is bye.

Today is Athletics day and I am so pumped for it. The first thing that we had to do was go out onto the court. Then Mr. Robinson did his usual speech which was really really boring. Then when he finished the year 7/8 boys and girls went to discuss. My best throw was 10 meters and 80 centimeters. Last year I throw 8.79 meters and I got first I'm my year level. Which I thought was really good.

Then after all of us were finished throwing we all went off to sprints. In the first race, we did 80 meters I got 3rd in that race. Then in the 100-meter sprint, I got 2nd. Then we went over to high jump and I was so bad my best is 97 cm but sadly I only made it up to 93 cm and I had to get 1.10 meters to go to zones for the high jump so yeah I would probably need a miracle to get that.

After the high jump we went to long jump and actually, I kind of did okay I got 2 meters and 73 cm I was proud of myself for getting that because I am very bad at long jump. But this time I did okay for once in my life so yeah.

Then it was our final event for Athletics so I said to myself, come on Liam give it our best shot yeah get it because it’s called shot put, man I'm funny. But I think that I did do okay I throw a good 7.31 meters and I was really proud of myself because last year I throw 5.36meters in shot put so that is a big improvement from what I got last year.

Well, that is my Athletics day done and dusted for 2018 and overall I think that I did better than I think I was going to get in all of the events. But sadly I still have to do the 1000 meter race that I did last year and I got 2nd from years 4 to 6 and first in my year group but this year it is 1200 meters race so which me luck.

KAPA HAKA

On Wednesday night our school Kapa Haka team went to Hornby high school to perform in front of lots of school and parents. It was lots of fun the schools that went were south Hornby, and some other school but I forgot their names sadly. The team was our whole group we were the only group to go from years 1 to 8 there are some photos of me and the group performing at Hornby high school.

today we did our recount of A video that we watched today it was all about a little boy who had to go to his granddads but thinks that his granddads are boring. just to let you know I have not finished it yet but can you please tell me in the commits were I have gone wone there it is hope you like it bye.

One day I had to go to my granddad's because my dad had to go to work. I hate it when this happens because that just means that I’m going to be bored and do nothing for a day which sucks. I ever think that old people are fun.

When we got to granddads dad gave granddad the bag with my stuff in it and then he went to work. granddad seed to me, I’m off to finish doing the loans. So he went to do the lorn but then when I was sitting down but then I sore something it looked like my dad and my granddad I should try getting better at it but I was really high up I tried to get to it I tried to put it better handle it and before you know it was too unstable forehead a hand up and I fell to the ground definite I was on top so all the way across onto the grass and then Grandpa saw it

He came over thinking I could have Injured myself but then he looked angry and he looked at me and he said to me you do realize that used to be your fathers. Then he asked me would you like to take it for a spin said sure then he said to me was on your homework and then we were going down the street and he said did you ever heard of the wild monkeys they called lots of trouble around here. Then I have heard a noise and then Felt like I was in a real jungle.  

end of term reflection

LAST DAY OF THE TERM. That is right it is the last day of the term and we have to do a end of term reflection so there is mine it did not take me long to do but there it is happy holidays to all you bloggers

This term has been a great term I think that I have had a great term as well as be being able to get the work that I think to get done. There are some points where I need to work on like myself managing. I think that that is one of the biggest things things that I will need to work. I think that there has been some bits of work that I am very proud of myself am there some bits that the teachers are proud of too. I believe that I am very proud my my start on our waste not, want not inquiry that we started last month. I think that I have been trying my best at writing, maths, reading well lets just say that I have been trying my best at everything that has been put in front of me. There have been some challenges over the term and I have tried my best to get through them by giving it my all.

But there has been some moments where I wish that I could have done better but it is what it is. I believe that my fous for next term would be to be able to manage my time and I think that this week has tested be on that because we have been doing our non timetable we have been given a list of stuff we needed to complete. I aslo liked doing winter sport and it sucked when it ended and we did not get to be able to give our coach her chocolates because on the final Friday it was cancelled. Aslo I think that I need to stop hanging out with the people that I have been sitting with and playing with at break time because all it does is get me into tuble.

I think that I have shown my hero qualities by helping the other kids around the school when they need my help I think that that is (Responsible citizen) . I have shown them by going around the school with Issac after brack and picking up the balls and putting them back in the PE shed I think that that is (Healthy individual) and also I think that doing this is a part in my position as sports leader . I have also shown them by trying my best in the classroom I think that that is (Enthusiastic learner). These are the ways that I think that I have shown my hero values in and out of the classroom. THis term I think has been one of the best this year but there is still a lot to work on this is my end of term 3 reflection.

My Narrative Post Test 2018

Hey guys this week for our writing we have been doing our Narrative post-tests for this year. My one is about weird things in the forest. I am going to be doing 2 or 3 parts to this Narrative I think that I have gotten a good start to this story. For me can you please comment if there are any week points in my story. I hope that you like my Narrative story. There it is by now enjoy.
The weird things in the forest

James was just a teen he loved to hang with his mates, play sport and go on some adventures.\
But there was one adventure that he could not go on, no one could go on this adventure.
It was something that the town hall that seed that no one can go into the forest because it is too dangerous. It was something James had always wanted to do. But he knows if
he did he would get arrested for trespassing. Something happened in that forest a few\
years an ago something came from in the forest and then someone went missing in the forest the police and the government went and tried to found the person that went missing they could not found them. Then 4 policeman went missing. The whole thing was that some kids was Biking home and then one of them sore something so they went to have we look and that is when he went missing.

   

To James, there was something about that forest that just creeped him out. It was a dark forest peoplewould go hunting there but then people started disappearing and that's when they banned hunting in the forest. Because they thought it was just bears but when they went to look for the
bears there was died bears and no bullets or scars. It just died and it was next to a lake and there was food and water and all the fish in the lake where died to for some reason. There were no Bullet
s no arrows no cuts or scars. Then they made it so that no one can even go in the forest for health and safety reasons and some who they have never found the bodies of the people that went
missing the police have called him died.

Just a few days ago James friend Mack went missing and he was last seen going into the forest but no one could go and look for them because no one can go into the forest at all. People are starting to think that the forest is magical and people think that the forest lewis people into it and something will happen to the people and some people are thinking of the most Gruesome things imaginable. Until now someone is going to go into the forest. James and some of his friends had been planning it for a long time now and they think that now is the time to do it.
Tonight they are going to head into the forest and then they will cover the whole forest to
see if they can found anything weird at all in the forest.

There are about 15 people coming with James, they friends of James friends basically they were going to go when it is about 9:30 pm at night. It was time to get really they had guns and lots of weapons because who no’s what can be in this forest. Everyone had at let 2 weapons we were going to move as a group as a big group. It was time for us to go into the forest we walked into the first there had been an old place where the park rangers would way but now it was abandoned we were going to go there first to try and find something. We all have radios so when we get lost we can try and find each other hopefully. When we got to the park rangers office we had a look inside Stuff had been thrown all over the floor for some reason but wwhen looked for things that looked unusual to us. But there was something on the wall it was a body!!!

super rugby

This week the super rugby cup came to our school. It comes every year I got a photo last year and this year as well. I think that it is very cool that we get to have the super rugby cup come to school because then we can learn about our home team the Canterburyrbursy Cusaders. I like the Crusaders myself I have watched every game that the Crusaders have played this season. I got a photo of me with the super rugby cup to show you as well there it is. It looks really cool. 

maths blog

this week we are doing three in a row are our maths investerginan. what we had to do was make sure we do not do three in a row. So that is what we had to do for this maths investerginan. I have gone and I have taken some photos of the side that I and my group did it on here it is hope you like it and also we had to do in a shape, here are the photos by now hope you like it. 

waste not, want not

Last week in Rimu class we started our new inquiry about rubbish, it is called ´Waste not,  Want not. We started by going into a group of seven and we brainstormed our ideas about how we think the rubbish is damaging our word and how we can fix it. Then after that, we went and got our computers and we made a slide about our facts we learned. We had to do our PMIs and write,  positives, minuses, and improvements of how our group worked together.

This week we did something different. We worked in our groups. We went into our groups which were the same as last weeks groups. We got some paper and the teacher put some headings our group was Oceans. We had to wite how to fix the problem of rubbish in our oceans. Then we would pass it on to the next group so they could put down there ideas. I hope you like my side.

last week we did our speeches and I did mone about how I think that woman in sports should get paid the same as men do there it is hope you like it.

Hey girls did you ever play sport for your Country and realise that you were not getting paid as much as the men where. Hi my name is Liam and I am here to talk to you about how I think that in sport female athletes should get paid the same amount as the men do. I think this because only just lately now in New Zealand, New Zealand women rugby players will getting payed to play so they will be getting contracts for the first time it in New Zealand rugby history. But they are not getting paid the same amount as the men are. As you can see this speech is all about the woman should be getting paid the same amount of money as the men do. Also if you won the Olympics and realise that you weren't getting paid as much as I men we're in the same competition as you I think that you would not like that at all. There are some reasons why I think that female athletes Should get paid the same amount as the men do.

1. There is no different it's just gender so why can't they get paid the same amount as a men do.
2. It's just like Tennis we don't know if the men are Better

then the the female Tennis players so they should just get paid the same.

3. Aslo last year the Australian football team went on strike because they were not being paid the same amount as men were.
4. Now the Australian women's cricket team and now getting paid hundred thousand dollars a year.

   These are my reasons why I think that female athletes should get paid the same amount    

as the male athletes do. I hope that this can happen Because I really see no reason why the female athletes should get paid the same amount as the men do. Thank you for listening to my speech.

our trip to the ECO site

On Wednesday we went to the ECO site it was really cool. First, we went to the ECO site, it was where we learned about all of the rubbish. I think that it was a good learning experience to be able to learn all about recycling, reducing, recover, residual disposal and how the machinery works.  Here is a slide and some photos of what we did. The slide is our collaborative group work.  We went to the ECO shop and we had $500 dollars to spend on what we would have in our flat.

tiney homes

This week in rimu we have been making some tiny houses because it is maths week. we So we thought it would be a good idea to maybe make some tiny houses we will be using parameter and lots of other ways to do the math. I found it very hard because at first, as I did not even know what parameter was until the teacher told me what it was. then I started on my perimeter I tried to make my house look nice by putting some brown bricks on it and then I just put inside what I thought would look nice in the end I think that I tried my best and did my best in the time that I had to do it. there is a photo of my house that I did hope you like it.
P.S I was originally working with a partner until He had to go so then I had to start working on my own so that is why it does not look that good.

There are some steps to what I did,

First I had to do my rock plan and put all the things he's in and put them where I wanted them to go then after that I had to start making it first I did my floor I did black and white tiles because I thought it would look nice.

Second, what I was I started to do my walls decided that I want to do brown brocks I think that it looks very nice.

Third, then I started to make the furniture in Colorado and then after that, I started to get some tape and start to take it on into the inside of my little tiny house.

Four, I started to get some tape and start to take it on into the inside of my little tiny house As I was walking over to get an iPad and I was holding my tiny house in my hand it fell out of my hands and went onto the floor and then the tape came off but we're about to pack up so quickly had to take a photo and upload it so that is why it doesn't look that good.

hi there on Wednesday the, year 7/8´s went to Spencer park to do some To do some fun activities and Games. We Played Games We Built hears and we also do team building. it was very fun it was a Competition for the hut building to see who can make the best hard in my group where Mikhail Parwin. We got second but we should I got first because all the team that got first just put the hot low to the ground with a bit of tarpaulin but it was lots of fun and we all loved it.

term 2 reflection

What am I proud of this term

This term I am proud of getting a
leader position as a sport leader for the school. I believe that I am taking this very serialize because
this is a very big operunerty for me. I think that it is a big step for me to becoming a better leader
and to me it is giving me the commferits to try and get house leader next year for Hillary. It has
also been great to become a part of the environment group and to me able to help the environment
in the school. I am really proud of my newspaper reports that we have been doing for the last 3 weeks.
I think that it is one of my best bits of writing that I have done this year. I think that I did very good on my
maths test that we did back in week 7. I think that I did my best that I could have done on my maths tests.
I also think that I have Improved a lot in my writing and my reading this term.I think that

I have gotten a lot better at my (I think that means) that we have been working on for the
last few terms I think that I do much better when I am going it with my reading group.
This is what I am proud of this term.

What am I not so proud of this term

I am not so proud of my listening on
the mat this term I think that I have been getting very distracted because I am not sitting
where
I am going to get all of my work done. I am not so happy with my reading test that we did back in week
7. I think that
next time I need to read

The text and then think about the questions that I am going to need to answer. Sometimes I am finding
it hard to write 250 word for our long witte that we do every term. I need to improve on at managing
myself and making sure that I can get my work done so that I can

What is my focus for next term

My focs for next term is for me to get all of my work done so that I can get
my reward time at the end of the week. I would like to be able to get 350 words on my
long witte everytime we do it at the beginning of the week. I would like to sit to people who
will not distract me so I can get all of my work done. I would like to only sit next to people on
the mat who will not distract me so that I know what I need to do. This is what I would like to
be able to do next term.
